The Academy of Pedorthic Science was founded in 2000 and has become one of the foremost respected centers of Pedorthic Education.

Our mission is to provide exemplary educational programs to prepare you for outstanding careers as Certified Pedorthists or Certified Fitters of Therapeutic Shoes.

Founder Ray Margiano, PHD

Mr. Margiano has been involved in the footwear and shoe-making industry since 1980, and has conducted footwear-related training and business in over 40 countries.

His broad executive background includes:

  • President of Bostitch Auto Soler Division, the manufacturer of equipment used in Orthopedic laboratories, shoe repair and shoe manufacturing
  • CEO and founder of Heel Quik (1985-2000), a 700-plus chain of shoe repair and pedorthic facilities in more than 30 countries
  • CEO and founder of Foot Solutions, a specialty Pedorthic retail that focus on custom orthotics therapeutic footwear in 16 countries
  • CEO and founder of Shu-Re-Nu, a custom orthotics laboratory that also provides custom shoe and medical shoe modifications since 1985

Mr. Margiano holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business, a Master’s degree in Business and Computer Science, and a PhD. in International Business.

His philanthropy includes donating time and money to organizations including Soles4Souls, Wounded Warriors and other veteran-related programs.

Dr. William Faddock, DPM, C. Ped

As Program Director, Dr. Faddock developed the curriculum of the Pedorthic Certification Program, establishing the Academy of Pedorthic Science as a respected training venue for Pedorthists internationally. We have trained more than 100,000 Pedorthists in more than 16 countries.

Dr. Faddock is the primary instructor for anatomy, physiology and pathologies. He earned his medical degree from the prestigious Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. A resident of Georgia, he has practiced successfully for many years and served as a past Chairman of the Atlanta Hospital, Department of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, a member of the Georgia and American Podiatric Medical Association, and on the 2000 Olympic Podiatry medical team.

He holds two Pedorthic certifications with The American Board of Certification and the Board of Certification, International.

Donna Robertson, C. Ped, ATC-MS

Ms. Robertson is a nationally-recognized instructor and lecturer in the field of Pedorthics. She shares her immense knowledge of patient evaluation, Pedorthic pathologies, conditions and orthotics applications and treatment plans with students in the Academy of Pedorthic Science.

She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Alabama, and her Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Pedorthist and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Pedorthic Footwear Association.

Ms. Robertson has faculty tenure with many Olympic Foot and Ankle teams, along with such prestigious institutions as the University of Alabama. She has served on the Pedorthic staff of the Academy since 2004.
